GRB 200716C: Evidence for a Short Burst Being Lensed

چکیده

A tiny fraction of observed gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) may be lensed. The time delays induced by the gravitational lensing are milliseconds to seconds if point lenses intermediate-mass black holes. prompt emission lensed GRBs, in principle, should have repeated pulses with identical light curves and spectra but different fluxes slightly offset positions. In this work, we search for such candidates within GRBs detected Fermi/GBM, Swift/BAT, HXMT/HE report identification an attractive event GRB 200716C that consists two pulses. Both autocorrelation analysis Bayesian inference curve favor scenario. Moreover, spectral properties rather similar follow so-called Amati relation short than long duration bursts. measured flux ratios between nearly constant all channels, as expected from lensing. We therefore suggest burst was a being redshifted mass lens estimated $4.25^{+2.46}_{-1.36}$ $\times$ $10^5$ $M_{\odot}$ (90$\%$ credibility). If correct, could towards existence hole along line sight 200716C.

GRB 051210: Swift detection of a short gamma ray burst

Aims. The short/hard GRB 051210 was detected and located by the Swift-BAT instrument and rapidly pointed towards by the narrow field instruments. The XRT was able to observe a bright, rapidly fading X-ray emission. We present the analysis of the prompt and afterglow emission of this event. Methods. The BAT spectrum is a power-law with photon index 1.0 ± 0.3. The X-ray light curve decays with sl...

A possible macronova in the late afterglow of the long–short burst GRB 060614

Long-duration (>2 s) γ-ray bursts that are believed to originate from the death of massive stars are expected to be accompanied by supernovae. GRB 060614, that lasted 102 s, lacks a supernova-like emission down to very stringent limits and its physical origin is still debated. Here we report the discovery of near-infrared bump that is significantly above the regular decaying afterglow. This red...

Grb 050717: a Long, Short-lag, High-peak Energy Burst Observed by Swift and Konus

The long burst GRB 050717 was observed simultaneously by the Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) on Swift and the Konus instrument onWind. Significant hard to soft spectral evolution was seen. Early gamma-ray andX-ray emission was detected by both BAT and the X-Ray Telescope (XRT) on Swift. The XRT continued to observe the burst for 7.1 days and detect it for 1.4 days. The X-ray light curve showed a cl...

Grb 080503: Implications of a Naked Short Gamma-ray Burst Dominated by Extended Emission

We report on observations of GRB 080503, a short gamma-ray burst with very bright extended emission (about 30 times the gamma-ray fluence of the initial spike) in conjunction with a thorough comparison to other short Swift events. In spite of the prompt-emission brightness, however, the optical counterpart is extraordinarily faint, never exceeding 25 mag in deep observations starting at ∼1 hr a...

Grb 060121: Implications of a Short/intermediate Duration Γ-ray Burst at High Redshift

Since the discovery of the first short-hard γ-ray burst afterglows in 2005, the handful of observed events have been found to be embedded in nearby (z < 1), bright underlying galaxies. We present multiwavelength observations of the short-duration burst GRB 060121, which is the first observed to clearly outshine its host galaxy (by a factor > 10). A photometric redshift for this event places the...
